Hello Everyone,

When our teenage daughter decided she wanted to learn piano, we knew what type of teacher and lessons we were looking for. Ania met with us in order to answer any questions and to allow us to see where our daughter would be having her lessons. After Ania outlined her background and teaching methods, we believed she would be a great fit for our daughter. In particular, we liked that Ania took our wants and needs into consideration when planning Katherine’s lesson plans. Katherine thoroughly enjoys her lessons and looks forward to them every week and we are very impressed with the quality of teaching Ania has provided. We highly recommend Ania as a piano teacher and hope to continue working with her for a long time.

Ania has been teaching me piano for just over two months. She makes it fun to learn, even things like scales! Ania works with me on theory and makes sure I understand what we are discussing before moving on to the next thing. I really enjoy being able to pick my own music, both contemporary and classical. I never thought I would be able to play an instrument since I have a very poor sense of rhythm, but Ania has proven me wrong, and I can even use both hands at the same time! I love my lessons!

Ania Basak was born in Poland, Europe where she was living before she came to Canada in 2007. Being born and brought up in a family where music was in air as well as in life, she was naturally attracted towards music.
From her childhood, Ania learned and developed immense interest in music. When she was 5 years old Ania started playing from ear and composing small but melodious pieces of music. At the age of seven, Ania went to Music School in Koscian, Poland which she successfully graduated in 1997 being one of the top three students. During the period of learning playing piano, she performed in many concerts and attended piano contests in Poland.
Although Ania was very ambitious and wanted to attain in the world of music, she chose different path of career at this time and started studying MBA at Administration & Law Department at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, which she graduated in 2007 as one of the best student of the year. Meanwhile though, Ania realized that she wants to come back to the music world and then she started teaching piano in Poland as well as in USA, where she was twice for few months.
After coming to Calgary in 2007, Ania decided to develop her interest in music and to teach piano – not only children but also adults.
“…I am very thankful to my parents for giving me the opportunity to learn playing piano when I was a child and I am very happy that I can share my passion and knowledge with my students…” – says Ania…
